Welcome to our exclusive book club!

As a member of one of the most elite book clubs in North America, I have decided that all of the world deserves a opportunity to benefit from the intellectual discourse that takes place at our monthly meetings. In those few hours a month, we solve all the worlds problems while enjoying good food, drink, and silliness. This month, we managed to solve the health care crisis. However, we were unsuccessful at determining whether the merits of a Victoria's Secret bra were worth the cost as compared to the Playtex 18-hour. In the midst of all this conversing, we also managed to discuss a book for which no questions were available on the internet. We happen to be very dedicated to reading books, as far as book clubs go, and also quite diligent about actually discussing them. If questions are available, we most often follow them. But lately we have been having difficulty finding questions for the books we are reading. When we do find discussion questions we are often unsatisfied as they are too leading, too technical, or too obtuse for a group of women partaking in a glass or two of wine (or, as was the case tonight, Bailey's on the rocks!) We now come to the birth of this blog. As we are an exclusive club which limits its members to intelligent readers who enjoy discussing books, we feel we have ideas worthy of sharing with other readers. This blog will share our monthly book titles, the overall opinion of the book club members on each book selection, and a discussion guide based on our meeting. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as we enjoy books and each others' company! On to our first title...
